John V Oare

John Vincent Oare Sr. June 17, 1938 – October 30, 2020 Guilderland - John V. Oare Sr., age 82 originally of Gloversville, and resided in Caroga Lake for many years, died Friday October 30,, 2020, after a long illness; at his home in Guilderland, with his loving family by his side. John was born June 17, 1938 in Johnstown, a son of the late Walter Oare Sr. and Catherine Rockenstyre. John was employed at the Pearl Leather Corporation in Johnstown until his retirement in 2006. After retirement John loved spending time in his garden and feeding the fish in his pond. John also spent countless hours crafting with wood in his wood shop. John is survived by his loving wife Patricia “Pat” Oare whom he married on May 3, 1959; two sisters, Marilyn Oathout of Gloversville, Wanitta Benard of Georgia; four (4) sons, John Oare Jr. of Gloversville, Matthew Oare (Janelle) of the Town of Glenn, David Oare of Johnstown, Joseph Oare (Gaitri) of Whippany, New Jersey, Two (2) Daughters Paula Oare-Lehr (Brian) of Rotterdam and Karen Oare-OLucci (Joe) of Gardner, Kansas. Eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his brothers Walter Oare Jr., Bernard Oare, Fred Oare and sisters, Christina Gillespi, Marie Earley, and Delores Erb. At this time no visitation is planned, however the family is planning to have a celebration of John’s life later in the summer of 2021.
