John M Domblewski

August 2, 1960 — March 30, 2018

Rotterdam- On Friday, March 30, 2018 John Domblewski, Owner of Leonard Communications (now ARB upstate towers) passed away unexpectedly. Born on August 2, 1960, in Schenectady, NY, John is survived by his beloved mother, Marjorie Dalton, aunt, Patricia Frisone, step daughter, Brittany (Schuyler) Houck, their children Connor, Hailey, Griffin and Nolan, former mother and father-in-law, Mary (Tom) Faulkner and many loyal friends especially Vinnie Smith, Dominick Leone, Ray Basterach, Carmen Pantalone, Tracey Brundege, Tom Gemmiti, his friends at the cigar shop and countless others. John was predeceased by his father, John Edward Domblewski. John graduated Mont Pleasant HS in 1978. Making friends came naturally, along with his outgoing, upbeat, genuine personality. As a boy, his interest in Ham radio was more than just a hobby; it led to his success in radio communication systems. Initially in sales, it wasn’t long before he was a business owner. His business venture grew after purchasing Leonard Communications. Safety and security of NYS rested on his shoulders as first responders rely on his systems to communicate. John received awards and recognition for his community service. He was a member of Woodlawn Sportsman Club, enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling and looked forward to his weekly gathering every Saturday at That’s a Great Cigar Shoppe on Erie Blvd. John’s dedication to his work and customers was a priority, second only to his family. His perseverance and commitment were visible in every task and project he pursued; especially in his friendships and the bond he shared with his mother and Aunt Patricia. John had an unwavering loyalty to the people around him. His sincere disposition was noticeable by many. He could meet a stranger and after talking, they would part as friends. His outgoing personality and concern for the well-being of others is indisputable. Breaker, Breaker, this is N2OJY-I’m going silent after this transmission. See you on the other side. You copy? Over and out. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3-6 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A 6 pm Memorial service will immediately follow. Gifts can be made to https://www.gofundme.com, John Domblewski memorial fund.
