John M. Aini Jr. Rotterdam, NY - John M. Aini Jr. 58, passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2013.Born in Cohoes, he was the son of Vina Aini and the late John M. Aini Sr. John was a sales representative for The Daily Gazette, retiring after 42 years of service.During his tenure at The Daily Gazette he also worked hard providing for his family at Carman Hardware, Guidarelli Liquor Store, as a Dispatcher for the Rotterdam Police Department, Sorrento's Pizzeria, and Towne TV.John also was able to find time in his busy schedule to volunteer in his community.He rode with the Rotterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps. and was a life member of the Rotterdam Fire District 2 Fire Department. John was a supporting member of the VFW post 1895 in Schenectady, an applicant awaiting membership in the Red Knights Motorcycle Club of Albany, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Wilhelmina (Mina) Aini, his three children Ramona (Chris) Rose of Mayfield, NY, Christina (Gary) Livingston of Princetown, NY, and John M. Aini III of Rotterdam, NY.He leaves behind 10 loving grandchildren; Robert, Alayna and Nicholas Fredenburg and Dylan and Eli Livingston as well as Kaitlyn, Emilie, Abigail, Madeline and Christopher Rose Jr., his siblings, Anthony (Cheryl) Aini of Rotterdam, Catherine (Victor) Jakway of Rotterdam, Margaret Mercier of Schenectady, and Patricia Aini of Schenectady.John is also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his father, John was also predeceased by his younger brother, Mark J. Aini. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening at the DeMarco - Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Rotterdam, from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral services will begin on Friday, 10 am from the funeral home, followed at 11 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St. Schenectady. Following the Mass, John will be laid to rest with his best friend Buddy, a Boston Terrier, at Saint's Cyril & Method Cemetery, Duanesburg Rd in Rotterdam.
