Joan C (Gaunay) Vore

Glenville - Joan C. Vore (Gaunay), 81, of Glenville, passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2015. Born September 25, 1933 in Troy, Joan was predeceased by her parents Jennie and William Gaunay. She was educated in Troy schools and worked at the former Bendix Co. and Prediger's Bakery before beginning her career as a Certified Nurse's Aide in 1978.Joan was a dedicated and loving CNA to all the residents at Our Lady of Hope in Latham for 30 years, retiring in 2008 due to an injury. Joan married George Vore on January 23, 1966 and they spent 35 wonderful years together until his passing in 2001. She has missed him greatly since that day and we know that she is now at peace, finally with him again. Survivors include her daughter Theresa Giaquinto of Schenectady and son Richard (Debra) Vore of Rotterdam. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ashley, Anthony and Victoria Giaquinto, Eric and Scott Vore, 9 great-grandchildren, her sister Jane Gaunay and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Joan's niece Lorraine Slichko, her dear friends Gladys Cath & Gerri Facci and all our family and friends for your encouragement, prayers, love and support. A graveside service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorys Garden, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Colonie. There will be no calling hours.
