Joan Marie Montrym

Flagler Beach, FL - Joan Marie Montrym, 84,passed away July 23, 2022 at Sabal Palms Assisted Living. She was born March 23, 1938, in Schenectady, New York, the only child of Joseph & Pauline Bachleda Mazur. After Joan graduated high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Bob Montrym. They moved to Rotterdam, and started a family. Joan was an Auxiliary Member for 35 years for the Rotterdam District 2 Volunteer Fire Department and a dispatcher for their ambulance. She and her husband Bob retired, and moved to Flagler Beach in 2006. Joan enjoyed watching NASCAR races, crocheting blankets, gardening, traveling and cruises. She leaves behind her husband of nearly 65 years, Robert “Bob” Montrym whom she married August 17, 1957. Also, one daughter, Dee Ann (Andrew) Frazier of Aurora, CO, three grandsons, Robert, Jason, and Craig Wrisley, one step-grandson, James Frazier, and two great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorene Lynn Montrym. Family and friends were received Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home. A graveside committal servicewill take place at Schenectady Memorial Park, in Rotterdam, New York on Thursday, August 4th at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s name to Kindred Hospice 160 Cypress Point Parkway Suite D104, Palm Coast FL 32164.
