Rotterdam- Giovanna "Jennie" Gesek, 88, of Becker Drive entered into the Arms of the Lord on Monday June 2, 2014. She passed away peacefully at Ellis hospital. Born in Sambiase, Calabria Italy on August 2, 1925, daughter of the late Francesco and Maria Volpe Cefala, she was educated in Italy. For over forty years Jennie was employed as a Food Service Attendant at Schalmont Schools. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, a member of the Rosary Society, and was a member of the Rotterdam Columbiettes. Jennie enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening, crocheting, knitting, baking, cooking and ceramics. She enjoyed 64 years of marriage with her beloved husband Aloysius Gesek until he passed away on May 22, 2013. Jennie is survived by her childrenRegina (Paul ) Jendzeizyk of Rotterdam and Frank (Jacqueline) Gesek of Lebanon NH. Her grandchildren:Tiffany (Patrick) Clute, Jason Jendzeizyk, Alan, Jennie and Maria Gesek, and her sister Carmella Donadio and several nieces and nephews. All who knew her will sincerely miss her. Besides her beloved husband Aloysius she was predeceased by her brotherJohn (Julia) Cefala, her sister and brother-in-law Innocenza '˜Jessie" and Joseph Sirianni and her infant sister, Antoinetta. Family and friends are invited to call at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Friday June 6, 2014 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Saturday June 7, 2014 at 8:45 am. Immediately following a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am at Our Lady Queen of PeaceCatholic Church Princetown road Rotterdam. Entombment will be at St Cyril's MausoleumRotterdam.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. A special thank you to Rev. Vincent Ciotoli, Rev.
