Rotterdam - Jeffrey R. Mancini, age 65, of Duanesburg Road, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, March 31, 2023 in the comfort of his home. Born on Dec. 26, 1957, he was the son of the late Ernest and Rita (Rizzicone) Mancini and graduated with the Schalmont High School, “Class of 1976”. He was united in marriage with Deborah M. Dimmick in 1988. Deb passed away on May 22, 2018. The couple would have celebrated 35 years of marriage this year; they are now reunited. Jeff was last employed with the Town of Rotterdam Highway Department. Jeffrey loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and had a love for cars and trucks. He enjoyed going to car shows. He enjoyed detailing vehicles. Jeff was a firefighter for many years serving as past chief with South Schenectady Fire Department. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his two children; Jeffrey (Samantha) Mancini of Rotterdam and Karra Mancini and companion, Anthony Fusco of Rotterdam, his granddaughter; Cheyanne; sister, Valerie Fredenburg and spouse Richard of Rotterdam; nieces and nephews, Amanda and Robert Gross (Jamie Corbett), Nicole and Richard Pitsas, Anthony (Trisha Schunk) and Nicholas Fredenburg and great nieces; Kaelynn Provost, Eliza Fredenburg and Lilyanna Gross, great nephews, Kevin Provost and Colton Fredenburg, as well as many cousins, friends and grand dogs; Brutus, Smokie, Luna, Biscotti and Stella. Also surviving are his in-laws, Sherry (Jack) Heermance, Isabelle Dimmick, Doreen (Steve) Pitsas, and Marylou (Anthony) Riddle; Godchildren, Andrea, Corissa, Amanda and Robert. The family will receive relatives and friends at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 4-7 pm. His funeral will commence at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, Rotterdam where his life will be celebrated. Procession will follow to Memory Gardens Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider making donations in Jeff’s memory to Dollars for Scholars at Schalmont High School, The Deborah M. Mancini Memorial Scholarship at schalmont.dollarsforscholars.org. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Jeff’s caregivers, Isabelle Dimmick, Douglas Sanderson and Raishma Moonsammy for all of their help and dedication to caring for Jeff.
