Jeannette C. Lane

Jeannette C. Lane of Rotterdam, NY passed away peacefully on Monday February 3, 2025 after a brief illness. Jeannette graduated from the Vincentian Institute in Albany NY and then had a long and successful career with the New York State Office of General Services. As a child and teenager, Jeannette excelled in dance until a bout with Polio curtailed her dancing dreams. During her career at NYS she developed numerous friendships, many that lasted into her retirement. Once retired, Jeannette looked forward to the Retiree luncheons with friends and former coworkers. Her main interest in the latter years revolved around the Red Hat society which she loved dearly. She participated with several groups including the Glitzy Chicks and especially the appropriately named 'Misfits'. Jeannette will always be remembered for her special sense of humor, witty conversation, intelligence, card playing skills and her overwhelming generosity.

She loved her family and is survived by her son Lance (Tina Wensley), grandson Travis (Mindy), and two great grandchildren which she was affectionately known as 'GG'. She is also survived by a close extended family including Eugene Villano (Debbie), Joseph Villano (Erica), and Lynda (Late Anthony) Villano, and an extended family near and far. She will be missed greatly.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday February 9th from 1 to 3pm at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, followed by a service at 3pm. Condolences can be posted at demarcostonefuneralhome.com.
