Jeanne M (Mulligan) Smith

Rotterdam - Jeanne M. Smith, 86, of Rotterdam, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Mulligan. She lived most of her life in Rotterdam. Jeanne enjoyed gardening and sailing on her boat (Toujours). She cherished most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband, William C. Smith Jr., who she married in 1945, passed away in 1982. She is survived by her three children; Diane L. (Edward) Mazzo of Glenville, Sandra (Richard) Alois of Schenectady and Glenn Smith of Saratoga. Her daughter-in-law; Jomi Smith. Her companion and best friend; Martin Govel of Schenectady. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Jeanne was predeceased by her son, William C. Smith III (2003). Calling hours, to which relative s and friends are invited, will be held Saturday from 12-2 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Burial will be private.
