Schenectady - Jeane A. Sinnenberg passed away on Monday, September 25th, 2023 at 89 years old at St. Peter’s hospital with her loving family by her side. She fought a very courageous and astounding battle with multiple myeloma for 29 years.
Born January 14, 1934 in Schenectady, she is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Edmund F. Sinnenberg (December 24, 1993) and her loving companion of 17 years, Larry Bisaillon (May 9, 2018). Also preceded in death by her brother Anthony Ciampino (Rose), sister Caroline Narkiewicz (Edmund) and parents Mary and Donato Ciampino.
Jeane is survived by her two daughters, Elaine (Ray) Asselin and Karen (Lee) Toscano-Hoffer. Also, her four grandchildren, Greg (Martha) Asselin, Christina (Danielle) Koslin, Anthony (Dana) Toscano, and Alicia Toscano. As well as two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Cedric Asselin.
She graduated from Mont Pleasant high school in 1952. Jeane was the first in her family to earn a college degree, graduating in 1981 from Union College with a Bachelor of Science. She began her professional career at Union College in 1967 and moved through successive roles to become the Assistant Registrar in 1990. She held this position until her retirement in 2003.
Jeane married Eddie on October 18, 1953. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, hosting holiday gatherings, and spending time with friends. Jeane loved to shop and was always thoughtful in finding the perfect gift. She started playing golf in her sixties, she also enjoyed playing bridge. She loved to travel, especially to Maine. Jeane was very religious and taught CCD classes at St. Joseph’s church in Schenectady.
Jeane’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at NYOH of Clifton Park, NY, The Eddy PACE program, St. Peter’s nursing/rehabilitation center and St.Peter’s Hospice facilities. We are grateful for their incredible kindness, compassion, support and care of Jeane. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the following: The American Cancer Society, The Eddy, Community Hospice, and Catholic Charities.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church, Hamburg St., Rotterdam. Interment will follow at Sts. Cryril and Method Cemetery.
