Schenectady, NY-Janos J. Mihaly, age 78, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, June 25, 2015 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 6, 1936, in Budapest, Hungary, and settled in Schenectady in 1956.He was married to his wife, the former Susan M. Maron, for 42 years who resides at home.Mr. Mihaly was a general contractor with expertise in all areas of construction and home improvements.He loved the sport of hockey and was an excelled gunsmith. Survivors include his wife, Susan; children, Matthew Mihaly and fiancé Ashley and children, Brandon and Eric of Scotia, Todd Mihaly and daughter, Alicia Rose Mihaly of Schenectady, Mark Spiak and wife Francesca and children, Zachary, Luke and Nicolai of Niskayuna, Mike Spiak and wife Diane of Guilderland and Robin Spiak of Schenectady; grandchildren, Sasha andSavannah. In keeping with Mr. Mihaly's wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady.Memorial visitation, to which relatives and friends are invited, will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 10-11 am at the funeral home with a 11 am memorial serviceto take place at the funeral home chapel.Procession will follow to Schenectady Memorial Park where inurnment will take place.
