Janis C (Krause) Briggs

d. January 5, 2018

Janis C. Briggs, 69, of Delanson passed away suddenly at home on Friday, January 5, 2018. Janis was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred Vitelli Krause. She graduated from Draper High School in 1966. She was employed as a File Clerk and Secretary with the Schenectady County Dept. of Social Services for 16 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Esperance Elks Lodge #2507, where she always left her impression and opinions. Janis was set to be married to her loving and very patient fiancé on September 8th of this year. She was married to Douglas A. Briggs for 42 years until his passing on December 27, 2010. Not only was she a caring and devoted wife and fiancé, she was the absolute best mom a person could hope for. To her friends she was a “hold my drink and watch this” type of gal. Always up for a good time and raising hell with her friends Natasha and Linda. In addition to her husband and parents, Janis was also predeceased by her son in law, Arthur W. Muth. She is survived by her fiancé; Robert L. Jackson, her daughter; Sarah C. Briggs, Furbaby Gwendolyn, one son and three granddaughters. Janis also leaves behind her family of friends from the Elks Lodge and the J & D Pub, as well as her and Bob’s dear friends, Ray and Denise Walters. A celebration of her life will be held at the Esperance Elks, 111 Rt. 20, Esperance, NY, on Friday, January 19th at 8pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. Scotia, NY 12302 or to the Schoharie Valley Animal Shelter, 304 Howes Cave Rd., Howes Cave, NY, 12092.
