Janis B. Malanowski

 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janis B. Malanowski, who left this world on Monday, May 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret Schmidt.

In 1967, Janis married her devoted husband, Tony Malanowski, and together they built a beautiful life, raising three children while she excelled in her career as a manager at F.W. Woolworth. She dedicated herself to her work until her retirement in 1997, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and hard work.

Janis was an animal lover who deeply cherished the companionship of her dog Greta. She also had an immense passion for gardening, cultivating a breathtaking floral landscape throughout her property, which she took great pride in. Her dedication and talent earned her recognition in the Duanesburg Garden Club Tour. She found peace and joy in birdwatching, a hobby that connected her with the beauty of the natural world.

Janis was the loving mother of Anthony (Bridget) Malanowski, Jennifer (Mario) Darpino, and Michael (Amy) Malanowski. She was a proud grandmother to Kayla, Jacob, Julia, Megan, and Anthony, and a cherished great-grandmother to Connor.
