Janice Ann Rey

Rotterdam – Janice Ann Rey, 76, formerly of Morning Glory Way passed away Wednesday July 26, 2017 at Glendale Nursing Home. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of John and Ann Sobieski Rey. Janice graduated from Mohonasen High School and then went to work for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Janice retired in the early 1990’s from the New York State Department of General Services after many years of service. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Church. Janice will be remembered as a private person with a fondness for cats. She is survived by her brother; David J. (Jane) Rey of Rotterdam. Her nephew; Stephen Rey of California. Her niece; Amy Rose (John) Aho of Arizona. Janice is also survived by several cousins. The family extends there heartfelt thanks to the compassionate and caring staff at the Glendale Nursing Home Pine Plains with Janice’s care for the past 5 years. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated 10 am Tuesday at St. Gabriel’s Church 3040 Hamburg St., Rotterdam.
