Janice Falcone, 86, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, May 3, 2024, with her closest family by her side. Born in Essex, New York, Janice was the daughter of the late Jesse Stiles and Walter Parker.
After graduating from Willsboro high school, Janice went on to Mildred Elley Business School to receive her education, living briefly in Albany. Janice was employed as a receptionist for 40 years at Kingsway Arms in Schenectady, receiving awards for her perfect attendance and dedicated efforts. She was the welcoming face visitors and employees encountered and her friendly personality made even strangers feel as if they knew her.
Janice was known for her warm and generous spirit, her gift of gab and her kind heart. Janice always sought to know more about every person she met and rarely wanted to talk about herself. She had a brilliant laugh and an independent, adventurous spirit. At every outing she wanted to see the dessert menu first. She surrounded herself with wonderful friends with whom she shared many exploits, fabulous meals, and laughs. She was a faithful member of her church and served in the rosary club. The epic joy of Janice’s life, though, was by far her precious family, and she spent countless hours talking to and about them. “Don’t you just love getting together?” This phrase was often repeated by Janice as she was busy planning the next get together. Of all her favorite places Cape Cod topped the list and she would often reminisce about family vacations there.
Janice was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, their beloved son Matthew, and her sisters-in-law Paula Belott and June Falcone. She is survived by her son, Joseph, daughter Hilary (Greg) O’Connor, son Chris (Erin), grandchildren Molly, Aaron, and Keira O’Connor, and Sam and Jack Jensen. She is also survived by her sister Susan (Wayne) Evans, sisters-in-law Maryjane Culver, Palma Watts and many nieces and nephews. Janice also leaves behind many cherished friends.
She had the biggest heart and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St Luke's Catholic Church 1241 State St, Schenectady, NY 12304. Janice will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery in Schenectady immediately following services.
