Janice Dolhy, 50 of Rotterdam, passed away on Saturday July 27, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a brave two year battle with Breast cancer. Janice was born in Brooklyn and later moved to Summit, NY with her family. Janice was employed by the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation for 19 years.She was later employed by the Schalmont School District for five years, the last two years as a Secretary in the middle school guidance office. Her husband Paul was formerly employed at Polar Beverage. Janice was predeceased by her father, Anthony Cioffi. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul, her son, Daniel, and favorite pet, Lexi, her mother, Joan Cioffi, one sister, Toni Cioffi and her brother, Thomas (Jo-Anne) Cioffi, her nieces; Marisa and Nicole. She is also survived by her aunt Marion Bird and cousins Cheri Jamison, George (Sue) Bird, Michael (Kathy) Jamison, Kelly Jamison, Nicholas and Matthew Bird, Robert (Annette) Taibbi, Diane (Mark) Chersevani and their families, Robert and Merka Stack, Danielle (Will) Hofmann and their daughter Katelynn, Matthew (Nicole) Stack and Robert Stack. In addition to being loved and adored by her family, she was also loved by her many neighbors, friends, co-workers and students. Special thanks to Dr. Rufus Collea and the staff at Albany Medical Center, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and St. Peter's Hospice Inn. Calling hours will be held on Monday, 4-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St's Cyril & Method Cemetery.
