Janice B. Cituk, 68, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady surrounded by her loving family. Born in Schenectady, NY on March 9, 1944 daughter of the late Benjamin A. Butryn and survived by Marion V. Butryn. She was a graduate from Mount Pleasant High School and most recently worked at Schenectady Radiology as an office assistant until retirement. Janice was a devoted caregiver to her elderly mother for over 20 years. She enjoyed being a den mother for her sons, spending time with her grandchildren, going shopping, cooking and large family gatherings at holiday time. She also liked rides in the countryside, vacationing in Vermont during the fall season and traveling to the Caribbean. Survivors include: her loving husband of 48 years Walter A. Cituk, two sons: Stephen (Jacquie), Paul (Phyllis), brothers: Robert Butryn, Richard (Bea) Butryn, sister Joyce Scruton, mother-in-law Mary Cituk, Brother-in-law: Richard Cituk, Sisters-in-law: Paula (Dennis) Veteramo, Donna (Michael) Imfeld, grandchildren: Thomas, Alex, Claire, Stephen A Cituk, step-granddaughter: Sierra Newton and numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Alexander J Cituk, sister-in-law Anna Butryn, nephew Tony Butryn and infant niece Jenna Cituk. Janice faced life's adversities with dignity and strength. She may have lost the fight but she won our love, our respect and our hearts. A part of all of us will always be with her and she will forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts. Memorial donations may be made in Janice's memory to NY State Police Investigators Association: Emergency Assistant Fund 11 North Pearl Street - Suite 1202, Albany, NY 12207 or the NY State Troopers PBA Signal 30 Fund 120 State Street, Albany, NY 12207. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Friday, 8:15 from the funeral home, followed at 9 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Adalbert. Burial will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery
