Scotia - Janet E. Villano 79 of Scotia New York passed away peacefully on Friday February 7, 2014 in the C6 ICU at Ellis Hospital after a short illness with her loving family at her side. Janet was born in Charlton New York on July 17, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Helen Quiel Collins. She is survived by the love of her life Stephen, together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Her cherished children , Robert (Felicia Gull) of Michigan, Maureen (Tad) Boniewski of Scotia, NY and Helen (Frank) Hendershot of Rochester NY. Janet was a devoted Grandmother to Stephanie (Rob)Schaller of South Carolina, Shawn (Crystal) August of New Jersey, Christopher( Darci) Boniewski , Eric (Jessica) Boniewski all of Scotia NY and six great grandchildren. Janet worked for 30 years for the Kmart in Glenville and was known to all her friends as the Kmart Lady. An avid Yankee Fan, she was a former member of the Guilderland Elks # 2480 ladies auxiliary and their long time Chaplain. She made so many friends at the Rotterdam Eagles, Rotterdam, Guilderland and the Scotia-Glenville Elks. Janet is also survived by her sisters Mabel Nichols, Alice Rogers and brother George (LeEtta) Collins and by her late sister /best friend Shirley Siegel. Janet was loved by many family and friends. She will always be in our hearts forever, we love you so much! Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Tuesday from 4-7 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 8:30 am Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church , Scotia. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's cemetery, Glenville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet's name may be made to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, 1150 17th Street, NW Suite 850 Washington, DC 20036
