Rotterdam - Janet Anne Minersagen, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 2nd, 2017. Born in Schenectady, Janet was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Pauline (Kaczmarek) Costa. Janet graduated from Linton High School and then continued her education at Mildred Elley. In her free time, Janet enjoyed getting together with her lifelong high school girlfriends, making jewelry, having game night and enjoying meals together.Above all, Janet was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a friend and 2ndmother to many and will be greatly missed by her friends, young and old but especially by her family. Janet was predeceased in 2009 by her dear husband, Kurt T. Minersagen. Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Daniel Minersagen (Elizabeth) and Nicki Minersagen, her adored grandchildren, Marley and Maxwell Minersagen, loving sister, Louise Allway (Max), nephews, Michael and David Allway as well as many friends and extended family members. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 6thfrom 4-7pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A prayer service will begin promptly at 9:15am on Wednesday morning at the funeral home and will be followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian burial that will be celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Church, 3040 Hamburg Street in Rotterdam. Entombment will be private at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
