Janet L Desoto

Rotterdam – Janet L. DeSoto, 82, passed away Friday December 17, 2021 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Glenville, she was the daughter of Guy and Louise Farrington. Janet worked for Verizon in Schenectady retiring in 1991 after 34 years of service. Janet will be remembered as a happy, easy-going person who was generous and loving. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her great great niece and nephews, Jake, Ethan, Toby and Margot. Her husband, Gerald, passed away in 1988. She is survived by her sister, Alice Townley and her two sisters-in-law, Helen & Jeanne Farrington. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband she was predeceased by three brothers, Gerald, Clifford and Guy Farrington Jr. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Thursday at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A calling hour from 9:30-10:30 am will precede the service at the funeral home. Masks are required. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 50 Colvin Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
