Janet Brown

JOHNSTOWN - Janet Brown, 65, died on Thursday November 2, 2023 at home from cancer.  Janet was a 1975 graduate of Draper High School and was employed by New York State for 36 years. Janet enjoyed her family vacations to Hampton Beach, NH; her trips to Bird-in-Hand, PA; trips out west to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Sedona, TX trips, etc. She also enjoyed her cruises with her Mom and Sister.  She loved seeing all the wildlife at her house.

Janet was the daughter of the late Joan and Tony Pasquariella and resided in Rotterdam until she moved to Johnstown.  She has one sister, Sandy Craig.  She married the love of her life, Harold E. “Skip” Brown, Jr., on July 12, 2003, but were together since 1989.  She had all the love in the world for her nieces and nephews – Maddie, Bella, Emma, Alex, Erika, Armando, John and Robin.

A special thank you to: Skip, who took such good care of her and never left her side. Sandy for all the cards, phone cards, prayers and care. All the prayers from the TX Ladies Bible Study. Dee Dee for sitting with her during chemo, spending the night caring for her, giving Skip a little break, and providing so many meals.  Special calls from Uncle Bernie and Aunt Sue who checked in every week; Aunt Betty who checked in every day; Mary Romano who called every day, provided meals, support and love. My brother from another mother, Myles, and Liz, who drove 5 hours for a surprise visit and all the calls. Our neighbor Cyndee for the visits and transporting Skip to the hospital when he was too exhausted to drive. George and Lorraine for checking in and providing meals.  To the awesome care provided by the Tesiero Cancer Center – so much love and compassion.

As per her wishes, Janet was privately cremated and there will be no services. Arrangements by DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, Rotterdam. Condolences can be posted at demarcostonefuneralhome.com.
