Janet S (Brockett) Bennett

Glenville - Janet (Brockett) Bennett, 60, passed away on Wednesday July 23, 2014. Born in Niskayuna, Janet was a graduate of Draper High School and then went on to graduate from Hudson Valley Community College. She recently retired from General Electric Research & Development in Niskayuna. Janet was a member of the GE Women's Club and was a board member of the GE ¼ Century Club. She also was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Scotia. Her husband, Dennis Bennett, passed away in 2005 and her father, Norman T. Brockett passed away in 2007. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Webster Brockett, of Rotterdam. Her two sisters; Kathleen (Jay) Baron of Guilderland and Sandra (Joseph) Bellomo of Rotterdam. Her nephew, Matthew (Lindsay) Baron and niece, Roseanne (Daniel) Flanders along with 3 great nieces and nephews; Jack, Alexander and Julia. Janet is also survived by her companion, David Trombley of Broadalbin. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of Janet's friends for their support during this difficult time. Calling hours will be held this evening, Thursday, from 5-8 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 10:30 am Friday at the funeral home.
