Jane R (Stanard) Eckl

Jane R. Eckl, 83, of Guilderland, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 20, 2014 with her family at her bedside. Jane was born in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to upstate NY as a child and graduated from Pottersville High School.Jane then attended Nursing School at Childs Hospital in Albany where she received her nursing degree. She returned to New York City where she worked for many years retiring in 1984 from Wyckoff Heights Hospital after 30 years of service. Jane enjoyed doing yard work, and loved spending time with her family. She was married to the late Thomas G. Eckl who died in 1992. Jane is survived by four children; Susan (Udo) Scheerbarth of Knox, Brian (Myra) Eckl of Guilderland, Thomas (Ellen) Eckl of Schenectady and Julie (Frederick) Kikel of Queens, NY., nine grandchildren; Julieann, Eric, Gregory, Katie, James, Kevin, Thomas, Stephanie and Emily and two great grandchildren; Taylor and Payten. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Turnpike (Rt. 20), in Guilderland. Funeral services will begin at the funeral at 5 pm.
