James M Weekes

Rotterdam – On January 6, 2018, James M. Weekes, 79, unexpectedly went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus. Jim was born to Marie (Dagostino) and Merlin Weekes on July 21, 1938 in Schenectady, NY and attended Mount Pleasant High School. Jim was a well known butcher, working at Gabriel’s Supermarket for over 45 years. Jim was a devoted family man who loved the Lord, his family and his many friends. He also had a great passion for playing golf. Jim was a warm, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, no matter what the task. Jim was pre-deceased by his parents, daughter Tammy, son Dean, step mom, Ann Weekes and brother in law, Ivan Dutcher. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 30 years, Jenny (Marotta) Weekes, his children, Tina Weekes, Linda (Kevin) Hulett, Dominic (Lucia) Cafarelli, David (Cathy) Cafarelli and daughter-in-law, Lori Cafarelli. Along with his grandchildren, Makayla, Kevin and Andrew Hulett, Anthony, Nicholas (Liz), Lucas, Olivia, Nico, Madeleine, Gianna and David Cafarelli, sisters, Carol Dutcher, Lucille DeMassio, brother, Ray Weekes, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many, many dear friends. A visitation will be held on the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, NY on Wednesday, January 10th from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 11 at 10am at Calvary Tabernacle Church, 1840 Albany St., Schenectady, NY. Burial will follow at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery, 611 Duanesburg Rd., Rotterdam, NY.
