James David Thomas Jr. (Dave) of Rotterdam, NY, surrounded by love, transitioned into a place of love and peace on January 25, 2015 after fighting a long disease. He was born May 15, 1972 in Loudon, Tennessee. He was predeceased by his father James David Thomas Sr. He leaves behind the love of his life, Christine Gabriele of Rotterdam, NY. His children, Chelsea (Zergio), Tyler, and Aaliyah. His grandsons, Aiden & Liam. Mother Helen (Larry) Aikens, his Granny Hazel, sister Denise (Dewane), and his nephew Jaden; all of Tennessee. He is also survived by his parents in-law, Thomas (Carolyn) Gabriele of Arizona. Brothers-in law; Thomas (Laura) and their children; Sofia and Fiona, of Virginia , Lou (Sarah) and their children; Lilliana, Abigail, and Louis, of Nassau, NY and Gramma Laura Gabriele of Schenectady. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in both New York and Tennessee. He was a carpenter by trade with the Carpenter's Union Local #291. He was a diehard fan of NASCAR and Peyton Manning; Go Vols! He also leaves behind his furry kids, aka "his critters;" Murphy, Henri, Jazz, and Angus T-bone. His beloved Diesel met him at the Rainbow Bridge.Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home, at 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the local animal shelter/rescue of one's choice. A special thank you to the doctors & nurses at Ellis Hospital C1 and The Community Hospice of Schenectady, for their care and support.
