James Leonard Mattice, III, age 69, passed away peacefully on July 23rd, 2026, at Ellis Hospital in the company of his loving family. James was born on May 21st, 1957, in Schenectady, NY to James Leonard, Jr., and Ann (Boyce) Mattice.
After graduating high school, James enlisted in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving from 1975-1979. Upon his honorable discharge home, James began his career as a skilled electrician, working most recently with Altone Electric, in Schenectady.
Along with his trade work, James greatly enjoyed watching football, decorating for his favorite holiday, Christmas, and spending time with his family.
James is survived by his mother, Ann Mattice and father, James Mattice, Jr.; his beloved wife, Mary "Joyce" Mattice; his loving children, Danielle (Armando) Figueroa, Chris (Danielle) Hughes, Jeffrey Hughes, and Jennifer (Robert) MacEwen; his grandchildren, Akira, Avril, Robbie, Anaya, Sienna, Nova, Nathan, Payton, Romi, and Oklan.
In accordance with James' wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
