James "Jim" Martin

Schenectady - James Joseph "Jim" Martin, 55, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday March 19, 2016 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness.Born in Schenectady he was the son of the late Alanzo and Mary Rose Tedesco Martin. Jim attended Linton High School and was a courier for many local businesses including Bellevue Women's Hospital and Clark Couriers, before his retirement. Jim loved the Adirondacks and camping, where he would take long rides on his motorcycles and ATV's and especially enjoyed sitting and talking around a campfire on long summer nights. Along with jazz music He loved his dog, Buddy and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He leaves behind his beloved companion of 32 years, Dale Marie Johnson. His sister; Sharon (Ron) Ferro. His niece and nephew; Elizabeth (Marc) Ciccone and Matthew (Thea Simone) Ferro. His great niece; Gia Ciccone. He is also survived by many close friends. The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Ellis ICU E1, especially Stephanie, Amanda, Dan, Doctors Platt & Jackson and Chaplain Corlin. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6-8 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 am Wednesday at St. Anthony's Church, corner of Nott St. & Seward Place.
