Princetown – James E. Herbert, 87, passed away at home on Monday December 6, 2021. Born in Rotterdam he served our country in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He then worked for the family business, Herbert Floor Service, serving many families including Bob VanPatten in Clifton Park. Jim retired in 1996 from the Town of Rotterdam being a familiar face for many years at the Town landfill on Mariaville Rd. He will be remembered as an avid hunter where it took him to Alaska and the successful hunt of a 2,300 lb. moose. He is survived by two nephews Tom and Jon Herbert and two nieces Hazel Hoopingarner and Helen Bailey. He is also survived by his very close friend Chuck Barthelmas. Jim was predeceased by his three brothers the late Howard (Jeep) Herbert, Clifford Herbert and Clayton Herbert. Per Jim’s wishes there will be no services.
