James J Cardany

James J. Cardany, 89, passed through this life peacefully at home on Monday, September 22, 2014 surrounded by his loving family, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born in Troy, NY on March 18, 1925 to the late Charles J. and Sophie (Ruth) Cardany. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary (Alderdice) Cardany, his brothers Joseph G. and Kilmer Cardany and sister Mary Callahan. Jim leaves behind his three children John (Patricia) Cardany of California, Rosemarie (Michael) Eggleston and Michelle (John) Perez both of Rotterdam; his grandchildren Jordan and John Perez, Jr. and James Eggleston; and Jim's siblings John "Barney" (Barbara) Cardany and Carolyn "Sis" Cardany, along with many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to calling hours which will be held on Friday, September 26 at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27 at St. Gabriel's Church, Hamburg Street, Rotterdam.Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Brandywine Ave, Schenectady.
