Isabella "Lisa" Canestraro

Rotterdam- Isabella “Lisa” Canestraro, 88, passed away at Ellis Hospital On July 27, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born in Italy on December 7, 1928 a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Vincenza Casinelli. She came to the United States in 1958. Her family lovingly remembers her as devoted wife mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and loved roses of all kinds. She loved making homemade macaroni and salt and pepper cookies for her family. Lisa was a communicant of Mt Carmel Church Schenectady. She is survived by her beloved husband Mario whom she married on June 3 1951; their son and his wife Christopher and Kathy Canestraro of Duanesburg grandson Eric and his wife Dianna Canestraro of Delanson, and granddaughter Amanda and her husband Justin Kruzinski of Schoharie and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Monday July 31, 20017 from 6 pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at Mt Carmel Church Schenectady. Interment will follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery The family would like to thank the nurses at Ellis Hospital ICU for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
