Irene T Strijek

Irene T. Strijek, 91, at rest, Saturday April 13, 2013. Irene was born in Schenectady. She was the beloved daughter of the late John and Mary Sroczynski. Irene was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and was later employed as a Secretary at General Electric and The United Fund in Schenectady. She was a communicant of St. Adalbert Church. For enjoyment Irene loved spending time with her granddaughters and family and also enjoyed trips to casinos. Irene was the beloved wife of the late Leo Strijek (1986); beloved mother of Michael and Susan Strijek of Linwood, N. J., Ronald and Kathleen Strijek of Palm Springs, CA., Krisha and Ronald Weafer of Woburn, MA., Randy and Lynne Strijek of Schenectady.Loving grandmother of Cassandra, Michelle, Kylie, Megan, and Rachel;beloved sister in law of Martha Kernozek, and Stasia Stryjek. Irene is also survived by four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 19, from 8 to 10am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Those in attendance may follow in procession to a 11am Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Adalbert, 550 Lansing St., Schenectady. Burial will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Rotterdam.
