Irene H. Dress

On July 31, 2024 our Heavenly Father called his faithful servant, Irene Ciafardo Dress, age 93, home to rest. Irene was born in Schenectady, NY to parents Ralph and Theresa Ciafardo. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband George, and her brother Albert Ciafardo, and sister Mary Aloisi as well as nieces Cathi Aloisi and Lindsay Plant.
Irene is survived by her devoted daughters Theresa (Armand) Corlew and Nikki Dress, along with nieces Donna Aloisi and Erica Plant and nephews Jeremey, Ryan and Anthony Cardin. She is also survived by grandchildren; Rick (Jodi) Nelson, Renee Nelson, the light of her life, Isabella Burnett (her BFF and “pesty westy”), Sam Nelson, Olivia Nelson, Lily Corlew, Allie Corlew and Cloud Fiero.
Irene spent her life as a hard worker and dedicated matriarch. She enjoyed working at her brother’s farmstand for many years before meeting coworkers that became lifelong friends while working at JLT Services. She loved gardening, playing cards, Bingo and scratch-off lottery tickets. Irene leaves behind friends and neighbors who she thought of as family and shared many laughs together. While her family is grieving the loss of Irene, there is comfort in knowing she passed on her own terms, in her own home and surrounded by her loving family.
Services will held at St. Madeline Sophie Church in Guilderland on Wednesday August 7th with a calling hour from 10:30-11:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am before procession to St. Cyril Cemetery where she will be laid to final rest with her loved ones who passed before her.
