Howard passed away after a brief illness at Cookeville Regional Hospital in Tennessee. He was born in Schenectady, and he loved the U.S Navy, fishing, and Howards Fishing and Tackle Shop which he owned in Rotterdam. He also loved his ‘67 Mustang and his dog Muffy. Howard served in the U.S Navy and was honorably discharged after 20 plus years as a Chief Petty Officer on December 30, 1976. He was a Vietnam Veteran and had received awards such as the Navy Achievement Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the Navy Unit Commendation. He always spoke highly of his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He was a father figure to them all, and he will be sorely missed. He is preceded in death by his Father Howard Henry Bohne, Mother Mary Bohne, and two sons William Bohne and Howard Bohne lll. He is survived by his Grandchildren Mike Bohne and Wife Meagan Bohne, Tami Doggette, Timothy Picard and Wife Heather Picard, Kristina Bohne, Patrick Picard, Sarah Picard, Jonathon Picard, and Margaret Crews and Husband Nick Crews, and 24 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Monday at Our Lady Queen of Peace 210 Princetown Rd., Rotterdam. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
