Helen F. Relihan, 98 of Guilderland, died peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital. Helen was born in Batavia, NY and was a graduate of Batavia High School.She later graduated from the NYS Teachers College in 1937 with a Bachelors Degree in Math and worked for several years in the Turbine Department at General Electric. She was a communicant of St. Madeleine-Sophie Church, the +50 Club as well as the Living Rosary at St. Madeleine- Sophie and the Alumni Association of NYS College of Teachers. In addition to her parents, Helen was also predeceased by her husband Daniel F. Relihan, who died in 2010, her son, Daniel F. Relihan Jr, and her sisters, Anna Pasto and Margaret Meyer. Helen is survived by her children, Patricia Ann (William) Mehleisen of Latham, Margaret Mary (Michael) McSpirit of Chambersburg, PA.and Vincent Joseph (Deborah) Relihan of Guilderland, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10 am at St. Madeleine-Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd. in Guilderland. A time of greeting will follow the mass at the church. Burial will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Helen's family would like to thank St. Peter's Hospital staff for the help and care shown to their mother. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Madeleine-Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd. Schenectady, NY 12303, or to a charity of one's choice.
