Helen Michalovich

Schenectady, NY- Helen Michalovich, age 92, of Schenectady passed away on Saturday evening, June 6, 2015 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. She was born on July 16, 1922, daughter of the late Chester and Marguerite Kolasinski. She graduated from the former Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady.She was employed for over 20 years by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.Helen was married in 1948 to Karol M. Michalovich who preceded her in death on September 23, 2007. She was the loving mother of James Michalovich of Rotterdam, and daughter, Karen (Steven) of Ballston Spa.She is also survived by a sister, Jean (Bill) of Guilderland and brother Edward (Margaret) of Clifton Park; along with many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Collins and sister Irene Elliott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10 am from St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 3040 Hamburg St, Schenectady with the Rev. James Belogi, Pastor officiating.Interment will follow in Saratoga National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.There are no public calling hours. Memorial contributions may be offered to the American Heart Association in Helen's memory.Funeral arrangements are in the caring guidance of DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady.
