Helen F Mahoney

Schenectady- Helen F. Mahoney, 72, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness with her family by her side. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Robert Peterson and Mary Palladino Peterson. She was married to Michael J. Mahoney. They were happily married for 52 years. She graduated from Erasmus Hall High School before working as the Green County Family Clerk. She would then start her family and raise her son, Michael. She then went back to work at the Early Childhood Head Start in Catskill, NY where she would retire in 2013. She loved crossword puzzles and reading. She was always happy to spend time with her granddaughter, Sophia. She enjoyed spending time with family and hosting Sunday and Holiday dinners, especially Christmas. She will be forever missed by her husband, Michael J. Mahoney, her son, Michael J. Mahoney Jr. (Sheila), her granddaughter, Sophia, her sister Barbara (Ronald) Root, and many loving friends and relatives. She now joins in eternal life, her parents; Robert and Mary. A Memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
