Helen Baggetta Christopher

Rotterdam- Helen (Baggetta) Christopher, 77, at rest, Friday, August 29, 201, in the presence of her loving family, at the Joan Nicole Prince Home in Scotia. Helen was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Dominic and Theresa (Galea) Baggetta.A graduate of Cathedral Academy in Albany,Helen was employed for many years as a bookkeeper with various firms. Most recently, she enjoyed her job as a "Super Sampler" at various Price Chopper locations. Helen was a former member of the Carman Fire DepartmentLadies' Auxiliary, and volunteered at the Glendale Home. She greatly enjoyed going to the Racino.Helen was a loving, caring, gregarious woman who helped many.She was the sunshine in her grandchildren's lives. Helen was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late Joseph A Christopher (2010). Mother of David Christopher and the late Elaine Barkley. Loving grandmother of Casey, Chelsea, and Shelbie Christopher; and Shawna and Kristina Barkley. Sister of Carl (Jean) Baggetta and the late Rose Baggetta Christopher, the late Joseph and Frank Baggetta.Sister- in- law of Dorothy Baggetta; mother in law of Dan Barkley. Helen is also survived by 3 great- grandchildren, and numerous extended family and dear friends. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 3, from 4 to 7pm, at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 10:15am at the funeral home, followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, 2733 Albany St. at Kings Rd.
