Hazel Parrish Favata,71,at peace, Monday, January 12, 2015. Hazel was born in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Selke) Parrish. She was a local graduate of Catholic Central High School and the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. Hazel was a dedicated nurse of many years at St. Clare's Hospital and CHP, was an inspiration for everyone who had the distinct pleasure of knowing her, appreciating her charm, wit, sense of humor, and especially her high regard of caring for others and the importance of love and family. Her favorite pastime was cooking for family and friends (she is the Artichoke Queen) and she enjoyed her league bowling at Rolling Greens for some years. The light of her life were her cherished grandchildren whom she loved to the moon and back with all her heart and soul. Hazel is survived by: her beloved daughter, Lori Favata Miller and her husband, Johnof Northboro, MA, her beloved son , Tommy and his wife, Brenda Favata of Scotia; her beloved grandchildren, Tara and Christian Miller and Nicholas Favata ; beloved siblings, Marlene (Angelo) Papa, Jackie (Steve) Lawlor, Diane (Jim) Garavelli Miller, Karen Catroppa and Ernie (Bonnie) Selke. Hazel is also survived by her long time loving companion, Frank Stabinski and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Hazel is predeceased by her sisters, Sharon Parrish and Mary Byrnes; brother, Jeffrey Parrish and her former husband Carmen Favata. Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 15, from 5 to 8pm at the DeMarco-Stone, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam.Funeral services will begin Friday8am at the funeral home, followed by a 9am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke's Church, 1235 State St., Schenectady. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
