SCHENECTADY- Harry Magnus Pedersen, age 85 of Schenectady, NY, peacefully entered the heavenly kingdom at home surrounded by family, on June 9, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Harry was born in Brooklyn, NY. He served 4 years in the Air Force and retired from General Electric after 32 years of service. Harry was a devout Christian, member of the Knights of Columbus and attended St. Ann and St. Madeleine Sophie churches. He was known for always building and repairing things, enjoyed fishing and hunting, time in Haines City, FL, throughout retirement, and his Sacandaga Lake camp. Above all, Harry cherished spending time with family. He will be dearly missed and remembered as a great man who is now in the full presence of The Lord. Harry was predeceased by his parents Nils and Odine Pedersen. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Diane J. Wassel Pedersen, brothers Al (Shirley) and Roy (Snooky), sons Michael (Tracy M.), Jeffrey (Stacey), Brian (Tracy L.), Kevin and Andrew (Marlo), 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Harry’s family on Thursday June 15th from 10-11:30 am in St. Madeline Sophie Church 3500 Carman Rd. Schenectady. His funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following the visitation at 11:30 am. Interment will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville on Tuesday June 20th at 11 am. Please arrive by 10:45 am. Donations can be made in Harry’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln. Latham, NY 12110.
