Harold L. "Hal" Vogl, 63 of Rotterdam died on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. Hal was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Harold and Lorelei DeMarco Vogl and was a graduate of Linton High School. Hal worked for 24 years with the Rotterdam Police Department as a Patrol Officer and retired as a Detective in 2000. He also worked with a DEA Special Task Force for several years while with the department. Hal was a boxer as a younger man and ran in the NYC marathon. He earned a black belt in martial arts and was a member of the Rotterdam Eagles. He also enjoyed playing the drums and just being outdoors. Hal is survived by his children, Jordan B. Vogl and Haley A. (Jeff) Weatherwax, both of Rotterdam, his favorite x-wife, Jolene, three grandchildren, Brandon, Lily and Noah, his sister, Evelyn Baia of Schenectady and his mother in law, Flo Cornetta. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 4-7 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. A memorial service will begin at the funeral home at 7 pm.
