Harold L. "Butch" Rhinesmith, 75 of Rotterdam, died suddenly on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. Butch was born in Albany and was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. He worked for many years as a printer with several area businesses and retired from Albany Medical Center Hospital ten years ago. A member of the 109th Air National Guard in Scotia, he was honorably discharged in 1962. He loved watching baseball games, especially the Mets and Yankees, and also enjoyed playing scratch off lottery games. Butch was predeceased by his parents;Harold Rhinesmith and Gladys and FredBurke, and two brothers, Ronald Rhinesmith and Robert Burke. He is survived by his three children; Kelly A. Rhinesmith of Rotterdam, Hal (Kelly) Rhinesmith of Hagaman and Lisa (Michael) Zimdars, of Rotterdam, his sister Sandra (Mick) King of Durango, Co. and step brother Terry (Antonia) Burke of Rotterdam, four grandchildren; Michael Zimdars, Anthony Zimdars,Kyra Rhinesmithand Kacey Rhinesmith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 9-11 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at 11 am, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National cemetery in Schuylerville. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., Syracuse, NY, 13057, the Visiting Nurses Association, 108 Erie Blvd. Schenectady, NY, 12305, or the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. Schenectady, NY, 12302.
