ROTTERDAM - Guy Charles Hildreth, 70, husband of Pamela (Jennings) Hildreth of Rotterdam, passed away suddenly yet peacefully on August 14, 2024, at home.
Born in Schenectady, Guy joined the US Army in 1978, served in Germany and retired as a Staff Sergeant. He subsequently graduated from Union College and worked as a Professional Engineer for NYS DOT.
He was predeceased by his mother Lottie (Gauvreau) Reed, stepfather Harold Reed and his brother Gary Hildreth. He was survived by his wife Pamela, father Charles Hildreth, brothers Jon Reed, Jim Reed, Hal Reed, Jeff (Katie) Reed and Todd (Celia) Hildreth, sister Lori Brrman, children Steven Hildreth, Melissa (Donovan) Flint, Tim (Jeanie) Hall, John (Diane) Taylor, Rachel Watkins, Hannah (Jose) Torres, 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, to whom he was devoted.
Guy founded and managed the I Love You Man fund, which raised thousands of dollars for local charities and people in need. He was a diehard Yankees fan.
Visiting will be Thursday, August 29 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, with a Celebration of Guy’s Life from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Interment with full military honors will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
