Gregory A Donadio Jr

Niskayuna – With his family by his side, Gregory A Donadio Jr. 67, passed away May 19, 2018 from a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. Born on Nov 3, 1950, he is the son of Theresa Santospirito Donadio of Rotterdam, NY and the late Gregory A Donadio Sr. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He is survived by the love of his life, Carole A Riggi and his daughters, Tana Donadio and Kara Nowak (Michael). Stepchildren Nicole Moore (Tyler), Christopher Riggi (Caitlyn), Nicholas Riggi (Samantha),his siblings, Linda Tedisco (Dick), Sam Donadio (Dawn), Darlene Muscanell (David), Gary Donadio (Mahassti),grandchildren Dylan, Noah Leszczyinski and Mason Nowak. Also, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins along with extended family. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses from NYOH, Schenectady Radiology, Ellis Hospital and Hospice for their care and support. Greg lived a family oriented life, and was loved by everyone that knew him. Growing up in a loving household it was clear family was most important to Greg. His sense of humor was always appreciated by those around him. Greg’s joy came from the simple things in life. Music, a winning scratch off, a nice Italian dish of pasta, family gatherings, a day at the races, or a good laugh was more than enough to make him happy. Greg loved all types of music, often singing his favorite songs surprising those around him with his wonderful voice. Greg also had a soft spot in his heart for his two favorite puppies, Frosty, and his girl Daisy who always slept by his side. Greg retired from General Electric Co, and Power Pallet. He was most recently employed by the Mohonasen School District. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Heldeberg Ave., Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday will be announced in Tuesday’s Gazette. Entombment will follow at St. Cyril’s Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations be made in Greg’s honor to Community Hospice 310 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
