Grace M Gresham

Grace M. Gresham, 89, of Scotia, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 23, 2015 at the Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. Born in Schenectady, Grace was the daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle Castle Gresham.She graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1943 and went to work at General Electric. She worked for 19 years in the payrole department at the main plant, and worked as a supervisor in the TIPO division for the last 18 years. She retired in 1981 after 37 years of service. In addition to her parents, Grace was also predeceased by her brothers; William Gresham, Edward Gresham and Douglas Gresham. She is survived by her sister; Jane Vitek of Schenectady, her cousin; Alice Dubois of Scotia, herloving nieces and nephews; Richard (Joyce) Gresham, Judy (William) Becker, Dotty (John) Diegle, Gary (Gerri) Vitek, Thomas Vitek, Kathy Vitek, William (Maria) Vitek, Douglas (Betty) Gresham and Paul Gresham, as well as many great nieces and nephews. Grace's family would like to thank Community Hospice, Visiting Nurses, Home Instead and the entire Kingsway Community staff for the care and compassion they showed our "Amazing Grace" during her lengthy illness. A calling hour will be held on Friday morning from 10-11 am at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 2850 Guilderland Ave.Schenectady. Funeral services will begin at the church at 11 am. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Schenectady Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. Schenectady, NY 12302.
