Gloria Rosemary (Benincaso) Mazzone

Schenectady - Gloria Rosemary Mazzone, 92, passed away early on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre. Gloria was born in Schenectady to the late Daniel and Josie (Montenaro) Benincaso and was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended the former Mont Pleasant High School and was employed at the General Electric Co. prior to her marriage to Louis R. Mazzone in 1950, after which Gloria dedicated herself to raising their family of three sons. Gloria was predeceased by her four sisters, Betty Mooney, MaryJane Montone, Virginia Attanasio and Dana Busse. She leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Louis; three sons, Daniel J. Mazzone (Vikki), Louis R. Mazzone Jr. (Rosemary) and Jeffrey M. Mazzone (Lynn); six grandchildren, Eric Mazzone (Jessica), Nicholas Mazzone (Maureen), Jennifer Mazzone, Elizabeth Mazzone, Lauren Mazzone and A.J. Mazzone; five great grandchildren, Kateri Mazzone and Lucia Mazzone, Valerie Mazzone, Teresa Mazzone and Cecilia Mazzone, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31st from 5 to 7pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Monday morningat the funeral home, followed at 10am at the Church of St. Gabriel, 3040 Hamburg St., Rotterdam, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Schenectady. The Mazzone family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Capital Living for taking such good care of Gloria during the past few years.
