Cobleskill - It is with great sadness that the family of Glenn R. Matice announce his passing into the Lords arms at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday December 30, 2022 after a long illness. Born in Schoharie County, he was the son of Ellis and Ethel (Waters) Matice. Glenn was a Vietnam veteran (2nd Battalion 94th Artillery) serving our country in the United States Army from February 18, 1970 to September 23, 1971. Following his military service Glenn received his GED from Mt. Pleasant in 1973 graduating from the VoTec Building Trades School. He then went on to work in Quality Control for the General Electric Co. and the Watervliet Arsenal for many years prior to his retirement. Glenn was a lifelong member of the Princetown Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 3 grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed hunting, baseball (NY Yankees) and football. Glenn studied Shitokai Karate for many years and earned his black belt. Glenn will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Rebecca and her husband James along with his grandchildren Taylor, Skylar and Colin Alex. His siblings Milton (Karen) Matice, Linda (Manny) Crewell, Shirley Hill, Richard (Peggy) Matice and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by his wife Linda Matice in 2013, brothers Wayne and William Matice and sister Sandra Hayes. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Linda at his family’s convenience at Saratoga National Cemetery.
