Schenectady – Gladys (Peggy) Donadio at ninety two years old, peacefully passed away at home, into the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on July 7, 1925 in Circleville, New York to the late Edith Andrews and Delmer Booth. Step daughter to the late Charles Elliott, she was predeceased by her brothers, Don Booth and Loring Elliott. Survived by her sister, Betty (Mark) Knisley. Peggy was a licensed cosmetologist, who owned and operated a salon in her home. She graduated from Schenectady Co-op Program for Practical Nurses in 1967, and was employed at Ellis Hospital Labor and Delivery Unit and later at Hallmark Nursing Center. She was a loving and devoted wife to the late Patsy (Puck) Donadio for sixty-four years. A loving, caring and wonderful mother to her two daughters, Sandra Baxter and Dieatra (Raymond) Herbst. Peggy loved spending time with her five grandchildren, Tracy (Michael) Schellenger, Darren (Brigette) Herbst, Lora (Kevin Vandermark) Pistoia, Beth (Jason) Archambault and Anthony (Betsy) Donadio. She was loved by her fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, several nieces and nephews, and three loving sister-in-laws. Peggy’s family wishes to thank family and friends for all their thoughts and prayers and a special thanks to Schenectady Hospice. Viewing hours will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam from 10 am – 12 pm. A service will follow at 12 pm conducted by Rev. Daniel Abbatiello and Rev. Duane Atkinson, nephews of Peggy. Burial will follow the service at Memory Gardens.
