Giuseppina "Josephine" Tote

Rotterdam-Giuseppina “Josephine” Tote, 93 passed away on Monday March 9th surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Fontechiari Italy in 1932, She was the daughter of Nicholas and Justina (Isopa) Ferrera. She came to the United States in 1948.

For many years Josephine worked at the Newberry Knitting Co.

Josephine could always be found working in her garden or cooking for her family.

She will forever be remembered for the love she has for her family.

She met her loving husband Domenico, who passed away in 1987, and were married for 40 years.

She was the beloved mother of the late Anna Marie Neach, Anthony Nicholas (Linda) Tote, and Angela Rose (Michael) Morrell.

Josephine leaves behind her 9 grandchildren. Donna (Michael) Flatley, Renee (Michael) Lipinski, Laura (John) Rogers, Christina Neach (Thomas), Melissa (Michael) Bassi, Andrea (Joseph) Bronco, Anthony Tote (Anastasia), Donny Fay (Ia), and Gina Fay.

She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1-3 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 1255 Pleasant St. Schenectady.

Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Colonie.
