Rotterdam- Giuseppe 'Joe' Santucci, 72, called home to God in the presence of his family on October 15, 2012. Giuseppe was born in Broccostella, Frosinone, Italy, the son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Lombordozzi) Santucci. He was educated in Italy and came to this area with his family from Australia in 1971. Employed as a diesel mechanic for over 30 years , Giuseppe was employed by King Road Materials from 1971 to 1984 when he began employment with Anderson Equipment, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church since 1971. Giuseppe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and loyal friend to all. Giuseppe was the beloved husband of 51 years to Maria (Paniccia) Santucci; beloved father of Walter (Antoinette) Santucci of Mayfield, Robert (Nadia) Santucci of Adelaide, Australia; loving 'Nonno' to Salvatore and Acadia Santucci; beloved brother of the late Carlo Santucci, Antoinetta (the late Anthony) Simeone, Armando and Pasquale Santucci; beloved brother in law of Nunzia Santucci; all of Adelaide, Australia and devoted brother-in-law of Antonio (Piarina) Paniccia of Rotterdam and the late Armando and Laura Paniccia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Friday October 19 from 6 to 8pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Saturday 9 am at the funeral home, followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1260 Pleasant St., Schenectady. Entombment will follow in Sts. Cyril/Methodius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Giuseppe's name to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society of Upstate New York 5 Computer Drive West, Albany, N.Y, 12205. Giuseppe's family extends special thanks to the Nursing Staff at Ellis Hospital C6 Neurological Wing and in particular Nurse Collette Ellsworth for her compassionate and dedicated care for Giuseppe.
