Rotterdam - GILBERT W. KINLOCH went to be with our heavenly father on July 10, 2017. Gil was born in Schenectady, NY to Edwin L. and Julia A. Kinloch on April 3, 1921. He was the beloved husband of Gudridur (Lolo) Kinloch whom he married on July 10, 1948. Lolo passed away in 2011. He is the loving father of Julia Kinloch, Dennece Kinloch and Patricia Kelley, grandfather of Kristin (Raymond) Morton, Erika Henry, Brian (Jessica) Henry, Jenna Henry, Ariel Kelley, and Jacob Kelley, and great-grandfather of Colin, McKenna, and Connor Morton, and Samuel Henry. Gil was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1945 in Europe. After the war he worked for American Overseas Airlines in Keflavik, Iceland, where he met his future wife. After returning to Schenectady, Gil was employed in various GE departments including GE’s Flight Test Center and the Research and Development Center. Gil was an amateur radio operator whose call letters were KB2ABQ. Gil was a life member of the Rotterdam Elks Club, a life member of VFW Post 1895 and a member of GE’s Quarter Century Club. Per the family’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Vale Cemetery.
